Local Governments are power hungry......

Everyone complains or worries about the Federal and State Governments butting in their business or trying to control them. What about local governments? These power hungry control freaks (which, I believe most of them to be) want to control every aspect of your life. They cover this up by saying they want a better town, blah, blah, blah. Tell it to the sheep. I'm not talking about city governments where most of their politicians are payed a relatively decent salary and in most cases that is their full-time job. Basically, the gentleman bought the property, which was an eyesore to begin with, in hopes of razing the building and building either two single family homes or two twins. He was approved at the zoning board hearing, but the borough council fought it. Surprise, his neighbor is one of the council members. I wonder where council heard of this "travesty."

My main point is, why even by property. It never is really yours! Instead of renting from an individual or corporation, etc... You are just renting from the government.
